How New Technology Changes Our Work
New technology is changing the workplace at a face rate. The emerging technology of recent years is making it much easier for workers to telecommute. There is no need to shop up at a physical location when the job can be done from a workers home because of the advancements in technology.
If a worker is working in a call center or is in a customer service type position that is phone and computer based, they can easily do the job at home from their desktop computer thanks to high speed internet and the right software application. This saves a company money because they don’t have to rent or own a physical location for their workers.
Technology has also made jobs much more easier to do. You see this at your local grocery store. Workers no longer have to manually type in the price of an item. Items have bar codes and are simply scanned and the price automatically put into the cash register. In some cases the workers don’t have to count out the change when it is in coin form. The register will automatically dispense coins while the cashier gives the customer the paper bills. This saves the employee time and makes things run faster.
